Hello From London

Hello from London!

It is the last night we are in london. This is the third place that we've stayed in (one night in a Hostel) and two nights in a flat in Oxford Area, and then we went next door to a cheaper place.

We've pretty much filled our days with activities around town, and our nights with wonderful Honeymoon activities....like looking for a grocery store, finding our way back to our flat from all over London, watching musicals, and eating meat and gravy pies.

Today was Sunday and we went to only 1 hour of church, even though this ward was only meeting for 2 hours (no sunday school). I lessened the ping of conciounce by reminding myself that we would be going to a church of England meeting at Westminster Abbey cathedral later that day. We saw the Dean of Westminster give a 30 minute sermon in which we read prayers together, listed to his improptu prayer, sang hymns together and recited the lords prayer. He stated that although the cathedral was wonderful the true strength of the church was that each follower of Christ was "a stone". It was a beautiful and historic place to go to church for a day. The sun was setting when we started and the stain glass windows were beatiful though not as ornate as some. By the time the service was over the sun was down and the stain glass had become dim.

We found our way back and ate Meat Pie and Gravy for dinner at a local pub, and watched socceer on TV (ESPN, not ESPN 4 or anything like that).

Tomorrow we are off to France. I will eat many pastries, get confused with the language, and laugh when Lori calls upon her high school french learning to get us around town. I"ve not been in a country where I don't speak the language for such a long time - it is good to be reminded just how small you are in a foreign country.
